It seems quite common to want a shot at stardom, until we realize that living in a fishbowl and having the paparazzi follow your every move might not be the best way to live our days. Just Like Me, Only Better offers a look into that life from the perspective of an ordinary woman just like many of us.
Veronica is a recently divorced, substitute teacher. Her older husband has left her for a well-off woman his own age and Veronica struggles to make a nice life for herself and her son Ben. And she stand in check out lanes telling people she is not Haley Rush, the Hollywood starlet.
But word gets to Haley's manager that Veronica's resemblance to the super star is uncanny, and he offers her a chance to stand-in for Haley and make appearances in public, and better yet, appearances with Haley's boyfriend, heart throb Brady Ellis.
The chance to live another person's life and get paid well for it seems to good to be true for Veronica but she jumps in head first, and the reader gets immersed in a story ripe with "be careful what you wish for" and "the grass is not always greener on the other side".
Snow's story is delightful and her character of Veronica is one to which most readers will relate. She thought she had it all until the rug was pulled out from under her, and the next day she finds herself well dressed, with awesome hair and a handsome man by her side. It's hard not to wish the same for yourself as you are reading.
Just Like Me, Only Better is a sweet story of lost love, found fame, and new found love in unlikely places. It's an easy read and a delight to delve in to.
