Sarah Kleckner, a local Mary Kay consultant, is trying to help some special moms at The Cornersstone at Longwood Assited Living this Christmas through her "Adopt-A-Mom" program.
For $10, your donation will give a “mom” the gift of hand cream and gloves or energizing leg cream and socks. Moms who might otherwise not celebrate this Christmas will feel the joy of caring with your wonderful gift from the heart. There is no limit to the number of moms you can adopt.
Kleckner asks that the donation(s) are received by December 16 so she will have time to gift-wrap and write notes for each present. The gift tag will read: “To Someone Special” “From Someone who Cares” unless the donor wants to personalize the tag.
"We have had Moms each year start to cry when they see that they are getting a gift," Kleckner said. "This mission is very close to my heart."
The area Mary Kay unit established a goal to adopt over 4,000 women this season. "Given the current economic hardships being felt across our country," Kleckner added, "I know there will be more women than ever, in need of some hope and compassion this holiday season."
