Dancing with the Stars (VIDEO) Lacey Schwimmer courageously confesses anorexia struggle

Dancing with the Stars Lacey Schwimmer, who has succeeded in the competitive dance world for many years, has courageously confessed that she struggled with anorexia, revealing the thin line in the entertainment world between an eating disorder and an "oh, you look great, you've lost weight" slimness.

The pretty brunette told Access Hollywood that she became anorexic as a young teenager. Rehearsing for dance more than nine hours a day combined with a rigid eating schedule (no breakfast, a few slices of turkey for protein, and beverages) combined to make Lacey "insanely thin," she recognizes now.

Lacey says that she has achieved the ability to feel comfortable with her weight now that she has regained her health.  This young woman deserves kudos for her courage - she follows in the footsteps of other celebrities who have gone public about their eating disorders in the hope that they can save teenagers from repeating their tragic and painful experiences.

I loved watching Lacey dance on So You Think You Can Dance and appreciated that she was not stick thin. She looks healthy and I'm glad she's out there as an image for young girls to see.
