Today, Ringo Starr celebrates his 70th birthday. The oldest member of The Beatles posted a video message on his website wishing "Peace and Love" to everyone around the world. (See video message here)
Last week, Ringo was presented with a star on the walk of fame at the Mohegan Sun Casino. Ringo already received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year. Many places seem to be following the Hollywood tradition by creating their own walks of fame.
Ringo accepted his star at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut prior to his show in Mohegan Sun Arena on June 27. He was presented with a glass statue and a replica of the star. Ringo said, "As a musician, this is an incredible venue and we've always been well looked after, so what more could a musician ask for."
Ringo is the 19th entertainer to be inducted into the Mohegan Sun's Walk of Fame. The plaque is located at the entrance to the Mohegan Sun Arena. Other artists that have received stars on Mohegan's Walk of Fame include Journey, Taylor Swift, Jimmy Buffett, Brooks & Dunn and Billy Joel. For more information, visit mohegansun.com.
