Rapper T.I. arrested on drug charges Wednesday night. Both Clifford Joseph Harris, better known to fans as T.I., or T.I.P and his wife Tameka Cottle were arrested during a traffic stop in West Hollywood.
The Associated Press reports that police smelled alleged marijuana coming from their car during the traffic stop. The arrests were the result of a narcotics investigation that started after the couple was stopped.
It seems as if traffic stops resulting in drug charges is big news in the celeb world this week. Last weekend, socialite Paris Hilton was charged with felony cocaine possession after a police officer smelled pot coming out of an SUV she was in with her boyfriend, Cy Waits, in Las Vegas.
According to the Associated Press, Rapper T.I., 29, and his wife, Cottle, a 36-year-old singer with the group Xscape, were both booked at the sheriff's station in West Hollywood. Bail was reportedly set at $10,000 each.
T.I. was released from a Georgia halfway house in March 2010 after serving months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months the halfway house on federal weapons charges. TMZ reports that he is currently on probation from those charges.
T.I., who currently has a key role in the movie 'Takers' with Chris Brown and Matt Dillon. He has been on Twitter recently tweeting about the movie as well as his new album King Uncaged.
