Dozens of high-profile celebrities were spotted at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino yesterday, July 2, for the 3rd annual Ante Up for Africa Celebrity Poker Tournament. Throughout the day, celebs retreated to McFadden’s Restaurant & Saloon’s plush VIP Green Room to enjoy tasty fare and signature beverages from the Irish bar and restaurant. Ante Up for Africa co-host Don Cheadle, Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Nelly, Sarah Silverman, Jason Alexander, Brad Garrett, Mike Tyson, Dean Cain, Jennifer Tilly, Charles Barkley, Montel Williams, Kenny Smith and Cedric the Entertainer were all in attendance. Since 2007, the annual Ante Up for Africa tournament, which is hosted on the eve of the World Series of Poker Main Event, has raised nearly $2.5-million to build awareness for the humanitarian crisis in Darfur, Sudan and support those who are victimized by it. Everyone who participates in the tournament pays a $5,000 entry fee and is encouraged to donate a portion of any winnings for the immediate benefit of ENOUGH and the International Rescue Committee. This year’s winner, Alex Bolotin of Brooklyn, NY, donated half of his winnings. In all, the third annual Ante Up for Africa tournament raised $362,000.

In addition to Cheadle and fellow Ante Up for Africa co-host Annie Duke, prominent names who participated in the event included Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Charles Barkley, Jason Alexander, Hershel Walker, Brad Garrett, Cedric the Entertainer, Jennifer Tilly, Sarah Silverman, Montel Williams and poker greats such as Chris “Jesus” Ferguson, Phil Hellmuth, Joe Hachem, Jennifer Harman and Phil Gordon.

Since opening its doors in Las Vegas early last year, Sin City’s rowdiest restaurant and saloon has hosted several familiar faces, including numerous Playboy Playmates, “Jackass” star Steve-O, Irish punk band Flogging Molly, rapper Vanilla Ice and a variety of adult entertainers. Besides its celebrity clientele, McFadden's boasts two rooms, nearly 20 high-definition plasma TVs, a dance floor and a 100-foot-long mahogany bar that's perfect for dancing on. Along with a stocked bar featuring dozens of favorite draught beers and McFadden's signature 92-ounce fishbowl cocktails, customers can tuck into McFadden’s “Almost Famous Boneless Buffalo Wings,” Irish stew and, of course, Shepherd’s Pie topped with air-whipped potatoes.

McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon is open from 11 a.m. until 4 a.m. daily.  For more information, call 702-270-6200 or visit McFadden's official Web site.
