Mel Gibson's seven children with ex-wife Robyn Gibson are standing by their dad as he fights for custody, and against domestic violence charges, with his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva.
PEOPLE reports that Mel Gibson's family sees Grigorieva as "calculating."
"She pushed him over the edge," says PEOPLE's source.
PEOPLE also quotes the source as saying that Mel Gibson's family does believe he needs help to learn to deal with his anger.
Even Mel Gibson's ex-wife is supporting him.
"Mel didn't ask Robyn for the affidavit where she says that he never engaged in any physical violence towards her. Robyn just felt that enough is enough and stepped in to show that she still values her marriage to Mel and that she is sick of the media portraying Mel as a heartless and abusive monster," says the source.
As for Grigorieva's camp, they've told TMZ that Mel Gibson is trying to distract everyone from the truth of his abusive behavior.

She’s in big time legal trouble.
She should have thought of the legal
outcome before asking for hush money
then going to the police on top of
illegally taping Mel which is a big time
no-no under California law.
This is more and more becoming
a clear prima facia case of extortion.
The laws of California are very clear about matters like these.
I believe Robin. IF Mel was a woman beater he would have hit her at least enough to p**s her off so much, along with all the other things that went wrong between them, that now, divorced, she's thrill at the chance to do some 'get back'. Their divorce is all but done, she gains nothing by defending him. She simply told the truth. I believe her. The OX has appeared to be a golddigger from the beginning. She has a long history of 'trading up' with her men. Twice she has refused to sign prenupts and therfore not married(Dalton and Gibson.) LOOK at her history. She's the one coming up short, NOT Mel.
I am sick and disgusted with the media, and all the posters, that cover how 'terrible' Mel is (he does have a potty mouth so what?) and let the gold digging lime light seeker off scott free. Shame on you folks.
