Drew Brees, who is better known as "Breesus" in New Orleans left his heart on the field in last nights Super Bowl. The Saints, who were very much the underdog, took home their first Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
The deeper meaning behind Brees' victory is quite moving. After a throwing-shoulder injury that many thought would be career ending for Brees, he signed with the New Orleans Saints (the Dolphins are most likely kicking themselves now!). He and his wife Brittany have been ever helpful to the people of Louisiana that were affected by Hurricane Katrini which hit and devastated the area in 2005.
Brees shared his Super Bowl and MVP victory with his wife and their son, Baylen, and they looked so thankful and so happy. Many would agree that the Saints deserved this victory. It was in their hearts.
