What does a celebrity dad do with his kids when their international Jet-setting mom is away on business for the day? He enjoys the opportunity to play with his kids and relax for the day.

While movie star Angelina Jolie spent time in Africa this week with the family, she was also working for the United Nations. On her day(s) off, she made a quick escape with adopted daughter Zahara to visit the celebrity baby's birthplace country Ethiopia.

People Magazine reports,

While the girls were away, Pitt and the rest of the family – Madddox, 8, Pax, 5, and 1-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne – stayed behind in Kenya. "The family has been having a wonderful time," on this trip," says a pal. "The children are having so much fun."

The Improper goes on to review the celebrity couple's activities the past year and says,

Angelina and Brad have been enjoying a relaxing summer in Provence, France. The couple recently purchased Chateau Miraval, a sprawling 880-acre wine estate in the South of France, where they intend to settle down for a few years.

Jolie says she openly discusses important issues close to her heart with her multi-cultural kids. "We talk about orphanages, we talk about their countries and differences, and it's a source of excitement and pride," she says. "I [hope] they can talk to me about everything, and by the time they get to be teenagers we'll have formed a sufficient bond."

So would Angelina--who lived in Los Angeles for years before she became a mom--ever consider settling down in Hollywood again? "I don't dislike it," she says. "[But] I just really do love to travel. I love other cultures, and I love raising my kids in the world. I'm so fortunate that I get to do that."

The press leak about the couples activities was thought to have come from a publicist, as the couple has been out of the public eye entirely for weeks following Pitt's successful release of the Quentin Tarantino film "Inglorious Basterds" and the purchase of their new celebrity home in the South of France. However, the "source" was not yet kind enough to release the photos of the trip. Yet.

THE BUSINESS OF BEING ANGELINA JOLIE AND BRAD PITT -- CELEBRITY PARENTS

Pitt and Jolie always manage to blend work and home life harmoniously. Despite having six children, (three by natural birth and three by adoption from countries around the globe), when they travel by caravan with the family, they manage to always get important work done.

According to PEOPLE,

Earlier in the trip, Jolie visited Dabaab Refugee Camp, home to nearly 300,000 Somali refugees, with nearly 7,000 more arriving every month due to the food crisis in Somalia where nearly 3.6 million people are starving.

The girls' trip was "the first time Zahara had been back home since her adoption," according to the friend. Zahara, 4, was adopted from Ethiopia in 2005. "The trip was about keeping up that culture for her [Angelina Jolie as new mother of Zahara]."
