The Fireball Run is a Luxury Travel Tour where participants help distribute literature and posters to help find America's Missing Children while playing a game and participating in a transcontinental race.

To date, the special event is one of the most unique transcontinental races in the world, and is the single largest active recovery charitable effort for missing kids.

Traveling to different cities across the country every year and working with local state and city officials, the Fireball Run has aided in the recovery of 32 missing youth (from infants through children up to the age of 18).

FIREBALL RUN: PART GAME, PART ROAD RALLY, PART AUTO RACE -- ALL STAR HEART

The Fireball Run is an adventure rally where competitors will drive in a 3,500 mile race over the course of 9 days. Each day will bring a new mental game challenge, a list of tasks to complete, and will bring drivers in and out of a new host city.

US Route 50 reports:

The Fireball Run is "Amazing Race" meets motorsports; teams start their adventure competition September 23rd in Lake Las Vegas, NV and finish October 2nd in Galina, IL.

Competition Teams are comprised of some of America's most successful business leaders. A few of the notable competitors in the 2010 Fireball Run are legendary Lamborghini Test Driver Valentino Balboni from Lamborghini Automobili Italy; CNN Commentator Mark Klaas, founder of the Klaas Kids Foundation; Kevin Miller, President of United States Auto Club Racing; Jacques Milon, CEO of LuxuryLifestyle.com and James Shaver retired founder of Broadband USA.

On Tuesday, May 11th at 11;00 a.m., the Dodge City/Ford County Development Corporation and Main Street Dodge City hosted a press conference at the Boot Hill Museum Occident Saloon to announce Dodge City as an official Host City for the 2010 Fireball Run Adventurally & its Race to Recover America's Missing Children.

This event is being planned to coincide with other Main Street events involving the Dodge City Community.

Dodge City Mayor, Kent Smoll and Fireball Run Executive Director J. J. Sanchez were present to make the official announcement and answer any questions the community and media had regarding the event.

HOW TO REGISTER FOR THE FIREBALL RUN AND HELP FIND MISSING CHILDREN

Dodge City is the 5th destination on the 8 city, 9 day, 3500-mile adventure rally tour; the special event is private and guest must register for the event using a special invitation code.

Readers who learn of the event through Examiner.com are encouraged to use the promo code "Kae Davis" or "Cafe Cars" as the invitation code for registration. The event entry cost for a team of 2-3 riding in one vehicle ranges from $7000 - $30,000 and is based on an all inclusive VIP tour across the United States.

Each city and roadside attraction where competitors will stop to play their scavenger hunt - like game and to distribute posters will have a VIP welcome station for all competitors.

EDITORIAL NOTE: Local residents and all local photographers and media are encouraged to come out to meet the competitors, to take pictures of the cars, and to welcome the travelers through town on each important stop on the journey. Obviously, the more social networking and mainstream media buzz the event itself can create, the better chance racers will have to help play their part in finding America's missing children -- and the more love sent to the families of the children, the more impact this phenomenal social experiment can make to help get all our nation's lost babies back home safe. As such, please share this link -- and local Examiner news writers are encouraged to share this link on facebook and twitter to the attention of @fireballrun and come out to say hello and participate!

GET THE HECK INTO DODGE! FAMOUS WILD WEST GATEWAY CITY DRAWS NEXT GENERATION

Quotes about Dodge City, Kansas history and the Fireball Run road rally --

"Dodge City, Kansas, built at the crossroads of America’s western history where millions of Texas longhorns met the railroads. The rich western heritage and hospitality is still very evident today in this bustling community of approximately 30,000." -- http://www.dodgecity.org

"The old saying Get the Heck OUT of Dodge might have come from travelers passing through Dodge City in the days of yore -- but nowadays, road warriors and scenic byway travelers can't wait to get the heck IN to Dodge! Our rally racers can't wait to go there!!" -- J.J. Sanchez of the Fireball Run

"Usually a vacation for me involves only a day or two of sand and beach with a little swimming... Finally, I am at a time in my life now that I am semi-retired from Lamborghini; a time that I can take a beautiful trip by car across America and see famous places I have only read about in history books and travel magazines.... This I can do while helping to find the children? I tell you, Americans give to charity with 100% heart, and I am honored to be able to join you on such an amazing event and rally... Also, to be welcomed to visit famous places like Dodge City... thank you for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this next generation of a historic journey." -- Valentino Balboni, legendary test car driver for famous Italian exotic car company Lamborghini and Honorary Track Chairman for the Fireball Run Adventurally
