ZACHARY QUINTO
It’s the little things in life that count. Just ask Zachary Quinto, whose ability to arch his right eyebrow (and also an uncanny resemblance to Leonard Nimoy) won him the role of a lifetime. The role of Sylar on NBC’s Heroes brought him some fame and fortune, but playing young Spock in Paramount Pictures hugely-budgeted reboot of Star Trek will likely rocket him into the stratosphere and beyond.
Zachary John Quinto was born on June 2nd, 1977 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Zach acted often in school plays, was a member of the Civic Light Opera ministars, and attended the Carnegie-Mellon University’s School of Drama -- he graduated in 1999.
Within a couple years of graduation, Zach found acting work in small roles on such shows as The Others, Touched By An Angel, CSI, Lizzie McGuire, Six Feet Under, Charmed, MIracles, and L.A. Dragnet.
In 2003, Zach was cast as computer expert Adam Kaufman on the FOX-TV series 24. It would be his biggest career boost to date. More TV work followed, including small roles in Joan of Arcadia, Crossing Jordan, and So noTORIous.
Zach’s next big break came when he got the role of the evil Sylar on NBC’s Heroes.
As far back as 2006, when rumors of J.J. Abrams involvement in a new version of Star Trek were circulating, Zachary expressed interest in portraying the young Spock. Zach knew he resembled the iconic actor, but when he was finally called in to audition for the role, his instincts proved more than sound. Zach was cast by the filmmakers, and beyond this amazing turn of luck, Nimoy himself approved him for the role.
Star Trek will be released in May of 2009.
I predict great things for Mr. Quinto. This reasoning is not conjecture, it is merely ... logical.
