Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh appointed himself as spokesman for "the black frame of mind" on Tuesday, saying all African Americans are "livid" with Obama for abandoning them, that they are depressed, and that Tiger Woods' choice of white mistresses is making matters even worse.
Here are his exact words:
I got two more stories in the stack today about how black unemployment is through the roof. Black unemployment is terrible. The black frame of mind is terrible, they're depressed, they're down -- Obama's not doing anything for 'em. How is that hoax and change workin' for ya? They're all livid. I mean, they thought there were gonna be an exact 180-degree economic reversal and it's done nothing but get bad for everybody, but they're especially upset about it because they look at him as one of them, and now they feel abandoned. And I'm sure Tiger Woods' choice of females not helping 'em out with their attitudes there either.
Limbaugh has compared Obama to Hitler, so Tiger Woods certainly is fair game by his standards. He said his Tuesday radio show was inspired by an article in The American Thinker, in which Lisa Schiffren suggested that both Obama's and Woods' public images were manufactured by handlers.
Schiffren makes the explicit point that "the parallels [between Obama and Woods] have nothing to do with race." Limbaugh even read that line on his show. But apparently he could not resist making race the central factor in his remarks. He sounded like Archie Bunker, ridiculously speaking for how black people think and feel, reaching out into the ether to conclude that Tiger Woods' choice of sexual partners is making black people depressed and angry -- at Obama.
One has to ask, is Rush back on the pills? Is he having a "Black Like Me" hallucination? Or is he truly the buffoon he appears to be?
Earth to Rush: You're not black. Never have been. Never will be. You cannot and do not speak for black people anywhere, any time, for any reason. Period.
The best thing Rush Limbaugh could do is take his own advice and shut up.
