American conservatives and the Taliban have finally found something to agree on -- both are horrified that President Barack Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday morning. Rush Limbaugh called it an "embarrassment" that proves "God has a great sense of humor." Craig Shirley called it "utterly ridiculous." Michael Gerson said, "At first I thought it was a joke."
But Mike Huckabee is warning his conservative colleagues to put a sock in it. He said in a statement:
There will be an outcry from those on the right who will say that Obama's nomination, made two weeks into his Presidency, is impossible to justify, but I think such an outcry will sound like right-wing whining."

Huckabee is symptomatic of why the Republicans are so epic fail right now. The conservatives, if Huckabee considers himself one, need to stop throwing each other under the bus. This kind of quote will be used by mainstream media all over to discount the conservative movement.
Fact of the matter is, most conservatives and many liberals understand this is a ridiculous time to award Obama, if for different reasons. You can see this if you followed a lot of the reaction coming from the White House before they got their message and act together (something liberals excel at). I'm pretty sure when members of your staff are asking if it is April Fool's Day, you didn't deserve the award.

Yet Huckabee continues to be popular, his Saturday night show has high ratings and he will most probably be the next Repubiclican Presidential nominee. Conservatives don't have much choice as all the potential candidates are moderates and weak. I'd rather vote for Obama than Huckleberry, at least Obama has charisma and is taking the country down with a bit of flash and style. Huckabee is WAY off on his reading of this issue. Obama didn't win this because he is loved or respected by the Nobel Committee. He won because the Committee (a small group of extremely left-wing European intelligentsia) view Obama as nothing more than a potential useful idiot . After watching Obama in action for the past nine months, these Euro Leftists concluded (correctly) that Obama is nothing more than a lot of talk and an empty suit and the only way to push this useful idiot (Obama) into doing what they want, they would have to indulge his considerable vanity and narcissism by bestowing him with a shiny piece bling. One cannot overlook this award being givien to the wholly undeserving Obama at nearly the same time the US Commander in Afghanistan requested a large number of additional troops be sent to the battlefront. Huckabee doesn't get it, unsurprisingly. We aren't whining, we're practically hysterical with laughter. This award perfectly points up the emptiness of both Obama and the Nobel committee. To paraphrase Rush, it's a bigger putdown than the Olympic snub.

The Huckster is at it again. Huckster has no real chance at ever winning the presidency. But that doesn't stop him from trying to boost his career at the expense of the party base. He helped take out Romney, largely based on Romney's religion, since Huckster is a true believer dontcha know, while Romney is Mormon. When Huckster cloaked himself in born-again Christianity as some kind of Merit Badge, he lost me for good, because it indicates a willingness to degrade/belittle God's Grace and Mercy for the sake of his personal advancement among men on earth. He is the Republican answer to Bill Clinton, who if you haven't noticed, is old hat now.
Regardless of previous Romney positions on a couple social issues, we could have used a guy like him right now, as the Ibama-economy's stagnation has born out. 9 months in, Romney would have at least established a trend, one that emphasizes BUSINESS, which PRODUCES Jobs, not to mention tax revenues for the spendthrifts in DC.
Huckabee appears to want to be the next McCain -- first to congratulate his "opponent" on the Left, and first out of the box to criticize the Right. Let's hope this doesn't turn out to be a trend.
I agree somewhat to his response. Intitally it is ok to challenge the decision, but we can not continue to dwell on it. I look at this as a positive because Obama has always said this is the war we need to be in to fight terrorism which I agree. Now we can hold his feet to the fire if he withdraws troops or does not give the troops requested by his hand picked general that is requesting them. The award was all political in an attempt to get him to pull out the troops of Afganistan. So in reality this is the worst thing that could of happened to Obama because he is in a no win situation. If he does what he should do, he will be regarded internationally as a war monger and loose support from them. And if he pulls out or decreases the troops then he looks weak here and makes the Taliban terrorists a winner which would provide them even more power and subject America to more attacks in the future. So what is Obama going to do? I guess we will find out in two weeks...so he says.

The Republican leadership are judas goats...ironically starting with Bush's 2nd term, they have been selling out America to the Global interests. Huckabee has used this whining comment before, basically using the same name calling the socialists use in a more mild form.
McCain was a stalking horse candidate who was supposed to keep the race close but in the end lose to Obama. The financial crisis was engineered to some extent to occur just prior to the election knowing that McCain would be blamed. I believe the crisis would have occurred anyway, but they didnt have to call in the chit on these over leveraged companies at that point, they could have kept them afloat until well after the election.
It may have not been obvious, but Huckabee and Giuliani were used during the Primary to ensure McCain won and Romney didnt. Romney would have beat Obama and the electorate didnt view Romney as a Bush Republican.

A Nobel Peace Prize for a sitting President is an honor, not an occassion for unbridled hostility. Carping at the current Leader of the Free World - whoever that might be - for being chosen by some Europeans for a prize - not a priority, people.
I just watched his TV show where he said this. Folks, he was showing SARCASM! In short, he said Mr. Obama won a prize he MIGHT EARN in the future and likened it to himself being awarded a Pulitzer Prize today for a book he (Huckabee) has coming out in December. A bit presumptuous.
The intent of the Nobel Peace Prize was to recognize those who displayed acts of selflessness, courage, humanity and bringing peace to others in difficult times/circumstances. Irena Sendler was such a person. She was a young Polish woman helping families in her community when WWII began. She orchestrated a very successful underground operation to save Jews and was nominated in 2007 for a Nobel Peace Prize. This brave woman saved over 2,500 Jewish children from certain death, yet, it was Al Gore who won in 2007 - a man whose 'accomplishments' pale enormously compared to the bravery of Irena Sendler. I ask: What has Obama done to deserve this award? What selfless act of decency did he perform as Irena Sendler or the other 2009 nominees: An Afghan woman risking her life to keep schools open in her country; an African doctor serving women and girls sexually tortured by terrorists - the list goes on. Instead, many glorify an incompetent, arrogant goon for reading a teleprompter. Pricless.
It will be no surprise then, when Madoff wins the Economics Prize.
