"It was an impressive first attempt," Michelle Obama told Paula Deen about her first — and only — attempt to make seafood gumbo for Barack Obama.
It was the first thing she ever tried to cook for him.
"I must have really been in love," Michelle told Paula.
She hasn't cooked it since. But Paula, the ebullient chef/host of "Paula's Party" on the Food Network, thinks that may be a good thing.
"Once was enough," she laughed.
Paula talked to People about what it was like to cook with Michelle — and promised to make her signature fried chicken for the Obamas if they move into the White House in January.
"She was everything I thought she would be: Smart, great sense of humor and loves to talk about family," Paula told People. "I can tell she spends time in the kitchen – she was very relaxed when we cooked. And that lady is a good eater."
Not that it shows.
"Did I tell you she is in the best shape ever? Everyone was staring at her amazing arms!" Paula raved.

All I have to say about the Paula Deen interview wth Michelle O' is that I better see an interview
with Sarah Palin too!
I have already been losing interest in Paula Deens shows, for the same reason another post
mentioned......she isn't the same person who
started on the show, and taught us how to cook
some 'down home' recipes our mothers didn 't know how to cook! I noticed that she is suddenly
'getting above her raising'(Paula knows what that means!) and was throwing fancy GOURMET recipes at us, instead of a recipes for tasty meatloaf! and FAMILY receipes including her boys fav's!
I also noticed the 'dumbing down' of Paula, please don't let them do this to you Paula, and
if you are leaning to the left,(like OPRAH!) I will have to push the button on the RIGHT side of my t.v. to OFF when your show comes on!
