In a huge blow to her almost 2 million followers, Miley Cyrus deleted her Twitter account Thursday for no apparent reason other than that Liam Hemsworth, her co-star in the upcoming film "The Last Song," wanted her to.
Her last tweet was:
“FYI Liam doesn't have a twttr & he wants ME 2 delete mine w/ gd reason”
Miley (16) and Liam (18), play sweethearts in her new movie, "The Last Song," and are widely rumored to be an item offscreen as well. In fact, the rumor is that they started dating while he was still in a relationship with someone else. Maybe yes, maybe no.
Miley hasn't told the world why she got so mad and quit Twitter, though she did lash out at "LAME bloggers who don't know what they're talking about" the day before. Mommy Tish Cyrus deleted her account on Thursday too, but Papa Billy Ray is still tweeting. In fact, he pleaded with his little tweetheart to come back to the fold:
You were born ‘Destiny Hope Cyrus’ for a reason. You can’t leave everyone now.
We r countin on u.
I understand ‘it is true one bad apple spoils the bunch….But listen to the words of your songs ‘Stand… for what ya believe in’…Remember?”
Miley's peeps told E! News the Disney princess probably will either tweet or post a statement to her official website "within the next few days" to explain why she's done with Twitter.

Sometimes we need to go our own way. Miley is just a person like you and me. Why she did what she did is her business and dear ol' dad shouldn't be placing the fans on her shoulders. If they are truly her fans then they will stick by her descisons.

Miley does not need "a reason" to quit twitter, that is absolutely absurd. No one needs "a reason" to quit any online social network, other than they want to live their life. She's not feeding the frenzy of hysterical gossip and media directly from the troff anymore, good for her. The chic has a boyfriend, he makes her happy, nuff said, get over it. Now lets go see if she makes a good movie.
