As King of Bacchus, Val Kilmer threw Mardi Gras doubloons to the crowd
Val Kilmer christened Fat Tuesday in New Orleans as King of the Mardi Gras Krewe of Bacchus. His first royal job, on Sunday, was to visit New Orleans Children's Hospital. He chatted with kids on every floor, according to Louisiana radio station WDSU.
Val loved being honored as King Bacchus, especially seeing how far the city has come in its recovery from Hurricane Katrina in 2005. He told the Associated Press:
There’s such a great spirit among the people here. They are so real, so authentic, and it’s lovely to be able to be around people who have that authenticity to them."
The Bucktown All-Stars brass band entertained the kids while Val signed autographs.
Past Bacchus kings include William Shatner, Billy Crystal, Bob Hope, Charlton Heston and Jackie Gleason.

Val is so wonderful and I'm sure everyone who attended had a wonderful time. I wish I could have been there, but it's great to see Val bringing light to people's lives and having a good time.

That top image is the most epic picture. Ever.
I do love Val's acting & style in Batman Forever,especially scene with Nicole Kidman,it's a sexy part! but for me looking at Val's picture during Mardi Gras especially Val's picture laughing with the kid give me another image that Val could be the hero even without the magic wing.
