No one knows yet how much Tiger Woods' sexual indiscretions will cost him in endorsement money, but lawyers familiar with his emergency marital negotions say he'll have to pony up around $75 million to keep his wife by his side for a few more years.
The Daily Beast reports that as of Wednesday evening, Woods had offered Elin Nordegren an immediate payment of $5 million to stay for awhile, plus as much as $55 million to be added to the existing $20 million prenuptial agreement.
The prenup vesting period also is being revised, according to the report. The original amount of $20 million was payable after 10 years of marriage, but she now will be eligible to collect that two years from now. The additional $55 million is to be paid in staggered payments over the next seven years.
If Nordegren wants the entire pot of gold -- around $80 million -- she'll have to stay with the golf superstar seven more years. And, according to the Daily Beast, she will have to "be a dutiful wife in showing up with him at social events and in public as if they were still the perfect couple, and sign a nondisclosure form that will prevent her from ever telling her story."
In other words, she will have to make nice for awhile, so her husband's lapses in moral judgment will cost him the least possible loss from his $100 million yearly endorsement income.
But with the new staggered vesting schedule, she could leave Woods after two more years and still collect almost $40 million.
That's a lot of money to pay for some sleazy sext messages and hookups with notorious party girls.
