Jett Travolta (inset) was pronounced dead at Rand Memorial Hospital in the Bahamas
John Travolta's friend Michael McDermott told the Ocala Star-Banner on Friday that funeral arrangements are being made in Ocala, Florida for 16-year-old Jett Travolta, who died Friday after suffering a seizure in the Bahamas.
Michael had gone to the Bahamas to spend time with the family and was devastated by the news of Jett's death.
The Star-Banner reports:
His voice cracking with emotion, McDermott called it a tough scene and noted "Kelly's very quiet."
"Just say a prayer for them," he added. "That's all you can do at this point."
Sources say the funeral will be held Tuesday in Ocala, where the Travoltas have a home in the fly-in community of Jumbolair Aviation Estates. John parks two large planes, including a a Boeing 707, at his home there.
John named his son Jett in honor of his lifelong love of aviation. He once told Architectural Digest that while other kids had sleeopvers in their backyards, Jett could step outside and have his in a Boeing 707. The plane is named Jett Clipper Ella after him and his sister.
The family "driveway" is actually a taxiway to the main airstrip of of Greystone Airport, which is the largest licensed, paved and lighted private airport in America, according to the Jumbolair web site.

Having lost a 20 year old grandson to heart disease, I can truly empathize with this loving family. No pain can compare to such a loss. To the travolta family, It seems that people identify with you through film yet forget that you to are a family with regular things to deal with, My oldest son also dealt with seizures at age two for a long period of time and we know how scary that can be. To Jett's Family... Mom Kelly, Dad John, and wonderful sister Ella.... As a very exposed and wonderful family, the world shares with you, the deep sudden shock of your loss. We all were there with you when Jett was born, and then years later beautiful Ella. Somehow, we outsiders, feel like we want to be a small part of your family, because we feel so terribly bad for each of you, during this time. We were there to watch you grow up, get married and have your children. This isn't about any of us fans, or outsiders, but we do hope that you will feel the deep out pouring of love we are all sending to each of you.
