Anne Hathaway gets Critics Choice Award, Angelina Jolie gets Brad Pitt's hand up her dress

Anne Hathaway and Angelina Jolie (inset) at the People's Chocie Awards

The big buzz at the 2009 Critics Choice Awards was all about Angelina Jolie, but for two separate reasons — (1) the look on her face when Anne Hathaway got best actress and (2) the look on other people's faces when Brad Pitt put his hand up her dress during a make-out session at their table.

Angelina either was steamed or flat-out gave the stink-eye when Anne rambled on and on in her acceptance speech, depending on which gossip column you read. (Fox says "steamed," E! says "stink-eye.") In Angelina's defense, we do have to say that the speech was a bit of an overshare.

And by most accounts, Brad and Angie might have been better off getting a room. During a lot of that dead time that would have gone to accepting awards, they reportedly occupied themselves by kissing and smooching, even while other people were talking to them. One witness told Us:

At one point, Brad had his hand all the way up Angelina’s dress!"

Hey, we weren't at their table so we can't say. But we hope this isn't a preview of the Golden Globes and the Oscars.

Here's the video of Anne accepting her award. Check out Angelina's reaction at about 1:10, 1:40 and again at 3:44.

Angelina did not look happy for Anne. C'mon Angie, you didn't really think that you really were going to beat Meryl Streep in "Doubt"? Or are you mad because you lost to Meryl and Anne?

Please. The news report of an attendee said that Angelina went over to later congratulate Anne for her win. Anne is someone Jolie invited to work on her recent documentary and and Angelina is someone Anne adores and admires. This imagined grudge is just sexist claptrap. Why would Jolie be othered to lose THIS award. She's got plenty of her own. If anything the look is one of concern for another woman on stage flubbing it.

And Brad's hand up her dress? Riiiight. As if.

I didn't really think there was much to Angelina's facial expressions. I think the whole "stink eye" thing is way overblown!!

I have to agree with emma also, Ang looked more tired than anything else. This is just media hyping up something that's not there. As for Anne's speak, way too long and boring. I thought I saw a few people yawning in exciting (LOL). Keep it short and simple girl!
