ABC morning news program Good Morning America has cancelled Adam Lambert's planned performance on the show. He was to perform on Wednesday morning. ABC has received more than 1,500 complaints since Lambert's performance on Sunday night's American Music Awards telecast, which some critics are calling too risque for TV.
GMA decided that it wasn't a good idea to air another Lambert performance so closely on the heels of Sunday's which had many conservatives up in arms. CBS' morning program The Early Show booked Lambert to perform and to discuss the controversy on Wednesday.
Lambert challenges those who criticize the performance to question whether such an uproar would erupt if he were not gay. "Women performers have been pushing the envelope" for years, he said.
