Charlie Sheen was freed Christmas afternoon after spending a few hours in Pitkin County jail on felony domestic violence charges against his new wife. He posted $8,500 bond and she will now have a protective order against him. His next court date is February 8.

Sheen does have a previous domestic violence arrest back in 1996 and received 2 years probation. His father Martin Sheen who played President Bartlett on the West Wing turned him in for violating conditions of probation.

Sheen had a tumultuous relationship with his last wife Denise Richards, and she made numerous allegations in the divorce papers that were never confirmed

Sheen has another famous quote about his dalliances with prostitutes – “I don’t pay them to come, I pay them to leave.”

Innocent or guilty, there is a chance that Sheen might be paying his wife to leave.

One other unfortunate aspect-- alcohol was involved. Sources say Sheen’s blood alcohol was .4, the alleged victim’s BAC were even higher. Hopefully, Martin Sheen will get involved with his son again…
