There's good news and bad news for Disney! Arguably, their biggest star, pop princess Miley Cyrus is wearing the "Worst Celebrity Influence" tiara. The 16 year old got 42 percent of the vote by voters aged 9-15 years old in a new poll by AOL's Just So You Know (JSYK.com). (Miley did take second place, with 16% of the vote in the "Favorite Female Artist" category behind Taylor Swift.) Ironically, after being named "Best Celebrity Mom" earlier this month in a different poll, Briteny Spears took second place as the "Worst Celebrity Influence." .jpg)
Seventeen year old Selena Gomez, helps save the Disney name however, being named "Best Celebrity Influence" in the first ever JSYK Awards. Gomez, who also won for "Favorite Female Television Star" was recently named the youngest UNICEF ambassador.
Teenage heartthrob and Twilight star Taylor Lautner, 17 took home two "virtual" awards. He was voted "Favorite Male Movie Star" and won with more than half the vote for "Cool Guy You'd Like To Hang Out With." 
Jonas Brothers were barely nudged out by Comic Book Heroes for "Favorite Boy Band."

Just goes to show you really can't give any of these online polls any creedence. (where people can vote over and over or there is no way to tell who is voting, the kids or their parents). I mean how can you be #2 Favorite Female artist, have the top song in the country on Radio, but be voted Worst Celebrity Influence? Who was she up against. People who the kids know well or people who the kids may have heard of but may not know? Lets face it she get far more bad publicity than she deserves, and very little publicity for the good things she does,(like singing to the little girl with Cancer at the City of Hope concert. So it's no surprise to me that the kids voted the way they did. But deserve it. NO. Based on who she was up against, she would have been somewhere in the middle of the pack. Give me a blind survey given to random students at random schools around the country any day. They always show a different result about how kids feel about Miley. They look up to her as a role model.
this vote is a joke and people are blind. the thing here is that miley is a good hearted down to earth person and selena is a fake. this is how kids are raised to look from the outside inside of the inside that is why people r messed up. what did miley really do she works hard and doesn't deserve this treatment.
Miley is just a whore. Can't she learn that little kids are watching her. i just read an article about miley's concert. A 5 year old was interviewed and she said it will be the best concert ever. How will she feel when Miley is shakng her butt against some guy. Selena is not a fake. She is sweet and really cares. I met her at a cd signing at she seemed so nice. Selena does alot to help others and be a role model but miley just thinks of herself.

I'm not the same ashley as the bottom ones. I agree with the other ashley. Selena hasn't had one scandal where Miley doesn't learn. There are some scandals by miley that shouldn't be that big but they are like the pic with the director of the last song. It wasn't like the underwear pics but that pose is only with boyfriends. I do think Miley deserved it because it says influence. Britney has no influence really. Everyone knows not to expect a good thing from her. Miley should know little kids and their moms are watching

miley keeps on creating situations that make the kids not like her. she does things she swears "arent bad" and thinks our world nowadays are "not the same". she thinks she's growing up but she isnt. she's letting hollywood take control, something she swore she wouldnt let happen but she keeps on making mistakes and doesnt learn from them. Selena, in my opinion hasnt made any 'regreatable' decisions. she has been trying to set a great example for kids, especially since this world is turning wrong.

Yes I agree Miley is an absolute freaking WHORE and Selena totally deserves this award... She' a role model and strives to be a good person...I mean did you see her pics while working as the a UNICEF ambassador. The pics are on twitter, she's on Africa giving away relief goods while Miley is Pole Dancing away not caring about her image and that she's suppose to be a role model to the kids.... I think that miley belongs in the worst young celebrite influences. Because look at all the slutty things she's done...dosent she know that she is supposed to be a good role model like selena and demi.. all you see is little young girls going to all her concerts and following her foot steps... She is only 17..and i know what most 17 year old girls do.. but she needs to know that she will always be on the spotligth.
Okay this is the deal. Actresses aren't perfect! No one is! And you can't assume things from just the TV and magazines and everything. OK Miley did a lot of things that 17 year old girls shouldn't do but many other 17 year olds have done the same. (and im not saying im taking mileys side). And yes shes a role model to a lot of children but that doesnt mean you can find a way to just pick on her. (and again im not trying to protect her.. no offense but i like selena waaay betta but im just trying to make a point) So if you guys would think about it you would realize not to judge by the looks.
