Justin Bieber is the latest, and youngest, celebrity to join the star-studded cover of Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie's classic 'We Are the World.' It will be a packed house, Monday (2/1) when the charity single is re-recorded in Hollywood.
The 15 year old My World artist joins a growing list of superstars including Lady GaGa, Bono, Jason Mraz, Justin Timberlake, Jay-Z, Carlos Santana, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, and Toni Braxton to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.
At the Grammy Awards, Sunday night in LA, music producer RedOne said being asked to participate was "the biggest honor a musician can ever do." The honor isn't being lost on music industry newcomer, Justin Bieber. The teen pop star tweeted to fans:
"...This is a serious honor" and "Today is a BIG day...I'm invited to sing on the remake of WE ARE THE WORLD...going to be in the room with some superstars singing for Haiti"
The song was originally recorded in 1985 to benefit hunger relief in Africa. At that time, an unprecedented 45 superstars gathered at the A&M complex to cut the single. The same studio will be used Monday to record the revamped version of "We Are the World."
