14 Questions from People Who Didn’t get a Chance to Read Elin’s People Interview

Answers to Questions 8 - 14
8. How did Elin manage to cope with Tiger’s infidelity and all the media hype surrounding his affairs? The children - 3-year old daughter Sam and 1-year old son Charlie - helped Elin get through her ordeal, Elin’s twin sister Josefin, an attorney, also helped with practical matters in addition to giving Elin emotional support. Elin also had the support of family and many good friends. Elin underwent intensive therapy (the People interview is part of her therapy), and and also found it therapeutic to ride her bicycle and go for long runs. 9. After trying to save her marriage, what made Elin finally decide to divorce Tiger Woods? Elin said she and Tiger tried really hard to make their marriage work. In fact, Elin said she refused to sign a 1-year lease on her rented home was because she thought she’d only be there for a month. But in the end, Elin concluded that a marriage “without trust and love” was good for no one. She says alone and happy is better than being in a relationship where there is no trust.
10. Did Elin mention how much money she’s getting in her settlement was from Tiger Woods? Elin, (and Tiger) refuse to discuss the dollar amount Elin received in her divorce settlement from Tiger Woods. But according to media reports Elin will receive approximately $100 million. NOTE: The actual figures are contained in a separate document which has been sealed by the court. What we know about the financial arrangements is what was leaked to the media by “inside sources” before the finalization of Tiger’s and Elin’s divorce. 11. How does Elin feel about all the money she’s getting from Tiger Woods? As mentioned above, Elin will not disclose the amount of her settlement from Tiger Woods, but she says, “Money doesn’t make you happy. . . it is making some things easier. I have the opportunity to be with my children as much as I want, and I am able to travel to see my family and also have them come here as often as I like. But Elin also said “Money can’t buy happiness. Or put my family back together.”
12. Where will Elin and the children live? It was rumored that Elin might relocate to her native Sweden after the divorce, but Elin intends to stay in the United States.. She especially likes Florida because of the warm weather. Elin and the children hold dual American and Swedish citizenship, and speak both languages. The 5-bedroom rental home in Windmere, Florida where Elin and the children live now was only intended to be a temporary home. After Tiger Woods moves into his Jupiter Island estate, Elin plans to relocate to southern Florida, too; and buy a home in the area so the children can be close to their father. She also plans to spend time in Sweden so the children can experience the culture of the country and develop a relationship with their grandparents and other Swedish relatives.
13. How does Elin feel about Tiger Woods now that they’re divorced? Despite his multiple affairs, Elin harbors no animosity towards Tiger Woods. Instead of trashing Tiger, in her interview, Elin wishes him the best as a person, and as an athlete, and says she feels privileged to have witnessed a part of Tiger’s golfing career. Elin is still struggling with the task of trying to forgive Tiger, and says that forgiveness takes time, but she knows she’ll get there eventually.
14. What are Elin’s plans for the future? - With the People interview behind her, Elin wants to go back to being a private person again. She has several long and short term goals. Elin is looking forward to competing in a triathlon, completing her studies so she can get her degree in psychology, buying a home in southern Florida so the children can be close to Tiger, getting the children adjusted to their new situation, and allowing herself time to heal. She’s looking forward to private life with her children, saying, “It’s going to take time for me to start dating again. It’s going to be just me and the kids for a little while.”

Good post..Good to see you have moved beyond some of the rhetoric you had earlier. Elin knows that anything she says about Tiger will filter to the children. Tiger did btw set her and their children up like no other woman married just six years has ever been set up..
The haters do so forget that.
I commend Elin Nordegren for her courage and determination to come public! Elin has a right to set the record straight after all the false rumors and innuendos that has been said about her for the last nine months. Elin has been badly wronged by Tiger, his mistresses and the media, so it was only fair that she had her say!!! Elin has been an inspiration to all the decent women around the world because of her dignity, self respect, courage and grace during this horrid ordeal! Elin and her precious children will have a very happy and bright future! Elin said it best” it is better to be alone and happy than in a marriage without trust”! I have no sympathy whatsoever for Tiger Woods. What he did to his wife and children was criminal, coward and truly undeserved!!! Sooner or later he will pay for this! Tiger will not escape KARMA!!!
