As Oprah Winfrey ends one chapter of her life, she begins anew with another. She announced today that after her network (OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network) premieres she will be taking on a nightime program.
After a few delays, OWN is scheduled to premiere on January 1, 2011, replacing Discovery Health Channel. Winfrey plans to start her new show, "Oprah's New Chapter" later that year after wrapping up her 25 year career on her self-titled talk show.
"My vision for OWN is to create a network that inspires our viewers and makes them want to be who they are on their best day," said Winfrey, 56, in a statement.
Just because Winfrey is leaving her daytime post, that doesn't mean she's leaving her friends behind as well. In addition to her show, it was announced that the network will be airing programs featuring Oprah's best friend, Gayle King and regular show contributor, Lisa Ling. Some of the content expected to be seen on OWN include home and relationship advice, celebrity insight features and a docuseries, "Behind the Scenes: The Oprah Show Final Season."

Good old, Oprah...always a hustle somewhere.
Of course! A network named after herself, a new show...she's got bills to pay :)
