After one of the nastiest feuds in late night history, Conan O'Brien is finally able to put the NBC debacle behind him. He has chosen where he is going to continue his career and that is with a late-night show on TBS!
Nikki Finke of Deadline.com reports that O'Brien began talks with TBS only a week ago and was able to come to terms on a deal that will bring the former Tonight Show host to cable. O'Brien said, "In three months I've gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I'm headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly."
TBS recently jumped in the late night game with George Lopez's Lopez Tonight. The plan is for Lopez to be pushed back to the midnight slot and follow O'Brien. Lopez is excited about the new addition and said, "It's the beginning of a new era in late-night comedy."
O'Brien's yet to be titled show is set to air Monday - Thursday at 10/11e. There has not been a premiere date announced yet either. By joining the cable ranks, O'Brien should be able to capture a new audience and have a bit more freedom in the choices he makes.
