Most actresses today complain that once you reach a certain age, your Hollywood status dries up. That isn't always the case and veteran actress Betty White can attest to that.
Born in Oak Park, IL, White has had a career that's spanned over 50 years. She is most famous for her role as Rose Nylund on the NBC sitcom, Golden Girls. She is now returning to the sitcom world again after almost ten years, co-starring in the TV Land comedy, Hot in Cleveland.
White has seen a resurgence of her career in the last year that began with her supporting role opposite Oscar winner Sandra Bullock in the film, The Proposal. From there, she went on to star in a hysterically funny Super Bowl ad for Snickers and is about to host Saturday Night Live for the first time at the age of 88.
A massive online campaign took place over the last few months designed to secure a hosting spot for White on SNL. Executive producer Lorne Michaels paid attention and on May 8, White will add SNL host to her already lengthy resume.
White is proof that a career in Hollywood is never gone for good and it's all about timing. She remains one of the funniest women in the game and is performing for a whole new generation of fans.

I love Betty White. I'm so pleased the Facebook campaign paid off. Also, I TOTALLY love Jane Leeves and have been dying for her to get a great vehicle ever since "Frasier" ended. Love Wendie Malick, too. This looks like it'll be a great show!

It definitely is a great female cast. I can't wait to see what SNL does with White!
