In a statement to the New York Times Saturday, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton extended their best wishes to their daughter and her new husband. saying "Today, we watched with great pride and overwhelming emotion as Chelsea and Marc wed in a beautiful ceremony at Astor Courts, surrounded by family and their close friends." The statement from the over-joyed former first family continued, "We could not have asked for a more perfect day to celebrate the beginning of their life together, and we are so happy to welcome Marc into our family."

Asked his opinion on today's nuptials, Sean Thomason of Tucson, AZ, remarked on the inter-faith aspect of the Chelsea Clinton wedding. "I think it's cool that people of two different religions can be happy together. It proves nothing, especially religion, should ever get in the way of love."
After being shown the brand new Chelsea Clinton wedding dress pictures, Thomason commented further. "She looked very pretty, and I'm very happy for her."
