Pearl Jam will be starting their North American tour in their home town of Seattle.  The band will be performing live in concert for Seattle fans on September 21st and 22nd. Two shows will be performed at Key Arena, and Ben Harper and Relentless 7 will be opening for the band.

Pearl Jam is going to be releasing their ninth studio album this fall, titled Backspacer. According to CHART Attack,”Backspacer was the name of Pearl Jam's 375-kilogram leatherback turtle that won the Great Turtle Race in April.” The band’s first eight studio albums were produced by Epic, but this album was produced by Brendan O'Brien (Korn, Billy Talent) and is being sold through Target stores and available through Pearl Jam’s Fan Club.

Pearl Jam formed in Seattle, Washington in 1990. Eddie Vedder is lead vocals and guitar for the rock band. Other members of the band include: Mike McCready, lead guitar, Jeff Ament, bass guitar, Stone Gossard, rhythm guitar, and Matt Cameron on the drums. Reports states that the band has sold an estimated sixty million records worldwide and fans are anxiously awaiting their new album.
