Twilight: New Moon sets records with opening weekend

"Twilight: New Moon" was definitely a highly anticipated film, so does that mean the film made high expectations too?

The second installment of the "Twilight" series that made box office records with opening night alone, even broke records for opening weekend, making the film "the third biggest opening weekend in film history."

According to Us Magazine, the film grossed "a stellar $140.7 million during its first weekend in theaters, earning $72.7 million on its Friday opening day alone."

The film that had the famous faces of Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner, played a huge part in also making records for "most advance ticket sales."

"New Moon" beat Heath Ledger's "Dark Knight," to even "Harry Potter and The Half Blooded Prince."
