Long time morning talk show host, Regis Philbin, is finally taking some time off.
The 78-year-old who co-hosts on "Live with Regis and Kelly," told his audience in a live recoding in Las Vegas, that he will take a leave of absence due to hip surgery.
According to TV Guide, Philbin told his viewers , "I'm allowed to announce I'm going into hip surgery. I'm going to have my hip replaced. I've been limping around here. It's really painful."
Philbin will undergo surgery scheduled for Dec. 1st, and is expected to take 4-6 weeks off to fully recover.
No word if "Live with Regis and Kelly" will have a guest replacement.
