Michael Jackson: Quirky Links

As the world mourns the death of Michael Jackson, the outpouring of love and support for the King of Pop is everywhere.

Jackson died at the age of 50 Thursday afternoon following a cardiac arrest, reports said. According to the Associated Press, Craig Harvey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner, said there were no signs of foul play. He said Jackson was taking some unspecified prescription medication but gave few other details.

As details continue to trickle in along with the myriad tributes and kind words shared by those who knew him best, from Elizabeth Taylor to Lisa Marie Presley, here's a few fun links to some memorable Jackson appearances and tributes:

Moonwalker video game for Sega Genesis (1987): This Sega classic was released to coincide with Jackson's album release of Bad and his short film Michael Jackson: Moonwalker.

Michael Jackson on The Simpsons: Jackson was a big fan of the show and yet rather than just show up as himself, he instead plays a mental patient who claims to be the King of Pop. His song for Lisa's birthday is still a classic I've been known to belt out for friends on their special days:

The Jackson 5ive cartoon (1971-1973): This cartoon was no more than excuse to capitalize on the Jackson 5 craze of the day, but it was still pretty cool to see the Jacksons in funkadelic cartoon form.

The CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines tackle Thriller: By far one of the cooler Thriller tributes ever. Just ask the more than 24 million people who've watched it on YouTube.

Flashmob party in San Francisco, June 25, 2009: A little local tribute to Jackson and just one testament to the power of Jackson's music and what it can do to a crowd.

Of course this just scratches the surface of cool little Jackson links. What are some of your favorites? Post below.
