And the winners are...

Bing, Microsoft's answer to Google, released a list of its top searches for the year today, which brought up some expected results in the Top Ten Trending Topics search category. They are the following:

1) Michael Jackson

2) Twitter

3) Swine Flu

4) Stock Market

5) Farrah Fawcett

6) Patrick Swayze

7) Cash for Clunkers

8) Jon and Kate Gosselin

9) Billy Mays

10) Jaycee Dugard

Jackson died June 25 at the age of 50. His death--blamed on an overdose of the anesthetic propofol --rocked the world over and was later ruled a homicide. The late King of Pop's popularity continues to soar, however, with his final concert film This Is It pulling in over $200 million worldwide in theaters so far.

Bing also hinted at its upcoming Top Ten Celebrity Search list, which it plans to reveal in the coming weeks. Still, some sad results are already in. Blogger/B-Lister Perez Hilton topped the list, besting Robert Pattinson (who came in second) and Megan Fox (third). It says a lot in terms of where people go to get their celeb lowdown and will only fuel the bloated ego of Hilton, who is already bragging on his site.

Bing wants to know what users think of 2009 and are urging them to fan its site on Facebook and follow it on Twitter to get more details.
