The man whose son accused Michael Jackson of molestation in 1994 has been found dead, according to MTV NEWS.

Evan Chandler, 65, was found in his New Jersey apartment November 5 with a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Police said the weapon was still in his hand. A suicide note was not left.

Detectives found perscription medication indicating he was suffering from a serious medical condition. Police did not release information regarding the severity of Chandler's illness.

"There was no note found in the apartment, but officers did find medication in keeping with a serious medical condition," a Jersey City police spokesperson said.

Chandler was the driving force behind a 1994 child-molestation case, reporting to Santa Barbara authorities that his then 13-year-old son, Jordan, had been sexually abused by Michael Jackson during sleepovers at Neverland Ranch.

Jordan provided authorities with a detailed report of the molestation, along with a thorough description of Jackson's genetalia. The allegations led to Jackson, in an effort to clear his name, to voluntarily allow his genitalia to be photographed as evidence. Before the case could ever go to trial, however, the singers attorneys eventually convinced him to settle with the Chandlers for a reported $22 million.

Jordan Chandler, now 29, has never spoken about the case publicly. However, rumors surfaced shortly after Jackson's death, claiming the molestation never occurred.
