A "peeping" Tom Cruise was recently spanked with a lawsuit for allegedly spying on a magazine editor named Michael Sapir, according to TMZ.com.

TMZ reports that Sapir is suing Cruise in the amount of at least $5 million for allegedly conspiring with and hiring a private investigator with an extensive rap sheet named Anthony Pellicano. According to the court documents obtained by TMZ, Pellicano has been found guilty in federal court of 76 counts, including racketeering, wiretapping, wire fraud and identity theft. Sapir is specifically suing Cruise for hiring Pellicano to use his illegal wiretapping experience against him.

Speculation has begun as to the motives behind the allegations against Cruise, as the suit may be a form of retaliation for the charges Cruise brought against Sapir in 2001 after Sapir claimed to have a video showing Cruise "engaging in a homosexual relationship."

The only comment that could be obtained by TMZ was from  Tom Cruise's attorney Bert Fields, who denied the allegations and stated that they were "absolute garbage." Fields was also named as a conspirator in the lawsuit.

What do you think about the charges against Tom Cruise?

There is always the chance that Cruise is guilty! But, until that time, let's assume he's innocent. That's the way justice is supposed to work.
