Adam Lambert performs on "Good Morning America" in NYC on August 7.
After fans became disappointed with “American Idol” season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert for not surfacing post-concert to sign autographs, Lambert made up for it with a “Twitter party” on Wednesday night. During this mock interview, Lambert revealed some new information about his upcoming album and his personal interests.
Lambert stated that his first single would be released “in October most likely ... album in Nov” and that he and Slash have discussed a collaboration, but “it’s a matter of ‘when’”. He also added that he would collaborate with Katy Perry if given the chance: “I’m a huge fan and we are friends!”
He took the opportunity to deny rumors of an Anoop Desai-Megan Joy Corkrey hookup, though rumors have run rampant since the end of the eighth season of "American Idol". For fellow “American Idol” runner-up David Archuleta, Lambert had only kind words: “He has a beautiful voice. I think he is very talented.”
On the less serious side, Lambert noted that his first job was at Starbucks, his most coveted superpower is flying, and his favorite books are Michael Chabon’s “The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay” and Bret Easton Ellis’ “Glamorama”.
Lambert’s first kiss was at age 14, and “it was with an 18 yr old fierce black girl from Compton. Learned how [to] really makeout!”
On the paparazzi and naysayers, Lambert takes a laid-back approach: “Gotta just deal with it. It sucks but I try not to take it personally. I try not to waste my energy on such b.s.”
According to Billboard Boxscore, this summer’s American Idols Live! Tour has already grossed $11.2 million, selling 82 percent of its tickets. The first 19 shows averaged 9.456 attendees per city while last summer’s tour averaged 9,771 per city. Billboard editor Ray Waddell pointed out that “They’re doing better than average” in a time when “40 percent of tickets go unsold” in the concert industry.
Lambert and the rest of season 8’s top 10 finalists will conclude their tour in Manchester, New Hampshire on September 15.

I seriously can't believe that Adam's twitter party made the news! LOL Slow news day?
Bless him! Michael has them often and has never made even his local news.
That's Lambertpower for you!
I'm happy that the news did cover this because they're so fast to label him as a diva.
Any news about Adam is newsworthy. He is amazing!!! Very talented guy...and gorgeous to boot!
This was really nice of Adam, and Nadine is right that it's good they covered this because maybe it can show those idiots who believe he's a diva, that he's not. But, a true Adam fan wouldn't need to know that and a true Adam fan wouldn't need him to make up for choosing to spend time with his family after a show. He already apologized and the fact that even after his apology he obviously continued to think about it and feel bad shows what kind of an amazing person HE is, but should make you ungrateful so-called fans who left him negative tweets for not coming out to sign autographs horribly ASHAMED.
I love Adam Lambert and he deserves to be a rock star!
I wanted to join the twitter party but didn't know how. I follow Adam's twitter. How do you join a T party? thankw for any information
Thoughtful and considerate of Adam to do this
Adam isn't doing anything more than other Idols have done before him. I know several Idols do weekly blogs to their fans, and vlogs, as well as twittering constantly. So this "party" is nothing new ~ and, as everyone knows, Michael Sarver does it ~ and several other Idols, this Season, twitter to their fans.
Personally, although I'm not an Adam fan at all, I think it's great that he's attempting to keep his fans happy. I hope he continues this, as this tour is not the time for him to make enemies. These are the fans who will buy his CD ~ the more the merrier! As for me, I don't like "futuristic" music, and I don't care for his voice ~ it hurts my ears. He's just not my style in any way, shape or form!
Yeah, true Adam fans wouldnt believe that diva thing! I wouldnt, for sure! I still love Adam sooo much! Cant wait to buy his CD. I hope he comes here to the Philippines. You guys are so lucky to have him there.
several other idols twittering and blogging? I 'm not interested. only Adam is interersting.
Maybe to you, Adam is the only interesting Idol, but to me and many others, there are 9 other Idols in this show - and I, for one, love them all, but epecially Kris. He's my Idol, extremely talented, plays several instruments, and will put out an amazing CD. There are several others whose CD I will be buying also - but Adam's is not one of them. To each his own! Enjoy!
Adam is wayyyyy over the top for me! I'll be interested to hear how he sounds on the radio. I will probably be switching channels, like I do with Lady Gaga and others like them. I guess she has the "futuristic" sound Adam is talking about reproducing? Not for me! Adam will be a novelty at first, but he'll probably end up on Broadway, where he would do very well.

you are a great person.
I am a big fan of Michael Chabon and "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay" is an incredible read. It is one of my favorite books. I am so happy to hear that Adam reads good books. I could not put this book down. It came out in 2000. This book is so well written it is a joy to read. It's over 600 pages but every page is a literary thrill.
So many surprises from Adam Lambert these days. So, now he reads books from authors like Chabon? He gets surprisingly more interesting as time goes by.
David Archuleta's really talented like Adam and Kris. d:
Adam has been skipping the fan meet and greets. Adam dislikes his fans. He called them 'sweaty and smelly' in a radio interview.
