Walter Cronkite's death leaves people asking what is cerebral vascular disease?

The legendary iconic anchorman Walter Cronkite died tonight from cerebral vascular disease. He was reportedly suffering from cerebral vascular disease for the past few years.

On June 25th Walter Cronkite's children released a statement regarding their father's failing health to the NY Post. "In order to dispel false rumors, Walter Cronkite's family want it known that, sadly, he is very ill and is not expected to recuperate; he is resting at home surrounded by family, friends and a wonderful medical team. We thank everyone for their prayers and good wishes."

What is cerebral vascular disease?
According to an iVillage medical report, Cerebrovascular disease is any disorder that affects the disease in the blood vessels that feed oxygen-rich blood to the face and brain. Most often, this term is used to describe “hardening” (atherosclerosis) of the carotid arteries, which supply the brain with blood.The term cerebral vascular disease usually describe hardening of the carotid arteries. People over the age of 65 have an increased risk of the disease.

    At least he was 92 - some of these other deaths lately have been so shocking, so unexpected. At 92, we can all say we had a long (and hopefully somewhat happy) life.

    I have been watching Walter Cronkite as long as I can remember. He has offered clarity and and clear understanding to the news. At a time where liars and politics walk hand and hand you will be sorely missed R I P.
