The Twilight Saga actor, Robert Pattinson's new movie, Remember Me did better than thought by many on its opening weekend.
The romantic drama has been critiqued for being slow and unmemorable, however, the box office showed that a large amount of fans didn't agree. For such a small movie it did pretty well making a total of $8.3 million so far, not bad for a film that only cost $16 million to produce.
On the other hand, E! Online reports that the Green Zone with Matt Damon bombed on its first weekend, making just $14.5 million. For a film that cost $100 million to make this low amount is only peanuts.
The winner remains Alice in Wonderland, which after two weekends it still brought in $62 million. It seems that fantasy and science fiction are the way to go for Hollywood these days!

I saw Remember Me on Friday night with my husband and son and we loved it! It was very good and Robert Pattinson was excellent. Don't listen to some of the negative reviews and go see it. I will probably see it again. it is a very different film - not the usual and I liked it for that. I give it 5 out of 5 stars.
i saw remember me on Saturday and i thought it was great! I love the movie, i cried at the end, (it was SAD) but i love it! Robert Pattinson looked great.
Saw "Remember Me" although it is not a movie I would usually see, and was pleasantly surprised. From the trailer it looked to be a lot of heavy emotional family crap with tears and yelling, but in actuality it had an interesting theme (bullies). Pattinson got to do some interesting things, and the scenes with the young girl were great, as were his scenes with Pierce Brosnan.
While it was rather sad at the end, since I had avoided reading anything about it, I got to experience it as the film-makers intended. The end, reminded me that each day, you don't know what is in store, so do the best you can with your life and your loved ones, while you can.
I thought it was a good movie and I'm glad I took the leap to see it, which I only did because of Pattinson being in it.
Likes: Pattinson, the young girl, scenes of New York
Dislikes: smoking as emblematic of rebels (aren't we past that) and the guy who played the cop.
I loved Remember Me. Great family drama. Pattinson can act and act brilliantly. It was a tear jerker but I knew that going in. All the supporting players were good too. It is not for everyone but an exceptional little film.
We saw Remember Me yesterday. It is definitely a movie worth seeing. Not the ususal formula movie like so many in the last few years. Cast great, moved well, did not think it was slow at all as some reviews indicated.
Saw Remember Me twice, and enjoyed even more the second time, for some reason! So, go see it. And go see it again if you've already seen it. Rather than the "enjoy while you can..." corollary, though, I think the script intended to humanize and create a relatable back story for the tragedy that was 911. Behind each life lost that day there was a human story that only those who knew them closely could relate to. This is why the pain they felt was immeasurable to the rest of us. Great idea, great acting, great movie!
I saw this with my gf. She has a thing for Pattinson (but for some reason thinks I don't know that). Anyway, I went along cause she really wanted to see it, although I typically steer towards the independent scene and knew the critics raked it over the coals.
And...I liked it. As a New Yorker, I didn't at all see the ending as "offensive" or as a contrived tear-jerker. Not going to spoil it, but those who are saying that are totally missing the point.
And my gf's other man? I thought he was actually good. Still not looking forward to seeing him in two more vampire teenager films, but he's a good actor.
..And by the way...sick of action movies with lots of action and no story! Good choice, Rob! :O)
I've seen Remember me 4 times since Friday & all I can say is it's amazing!! On Friday my mom & I watched it twice, yesterday my friends & I watched it once, & I watched it once today with my brother. I loved the whole movie, it was exceptionally awesome.... Well except for the end, lol I cried. But you seriously NEED to watch Remember Me! Rob looked awesome like always! ?
I saw "Remember me" and I really enjoyed it. The chemistry between Rob and Emille was believable and and I hope they both enjoy long successful careers. For myself, I look forward to their future projects. I'm particularly excited about seeing Rob in "Water For Elephants" which is one of my favorite books. I hope Remember me surprises the critics in the end. What truly matters in the end is our own experience and I give this movie a 5 out of 5 stars as well Val.
Saw it Friday when it opened and really loved it! I think EVERYBODY in this movie was great. As a LOST fan, I was not sure how I would like Emilee - but she was great - as was Robert Pattinson....and I thought Pierce Brosnan did a great job - I really felt like he was a real 'prick' as he himself quoted. I might just go see it again this week!! It's good to have a good cry once in a while, right?!
GO SEE REMEMBER ME! I am fifty three and went to see Remember Me with my seventy year old friend. We were worried at the appearance of all the teen girls, as we found out, we should be.
They giggled, talked, texted, ran up and down the isles, and made us miserable for about thirty minutes. We were regretting the decision. But then, magic happened...they shut up and listened to the movie, then before I knew we it were all applauding, then ten minutes before the end you could have heard a pen drop!
It was beyond a great movie, go see it! Anyone actor that can put in his resume'...I can make silly teenage girls shutup and listen to am important theme, can act. There is no argument about Robert Pattinson's acting skills. My friend and I also spoke to a group of teen girls after the movie. We were shocked at their response. In their opinion the film was saying just that..."Remember Me." Don't forget 911 and the families that were devestated by it. I was impressed and proud
I saw the movie Friday night with my husband. I didn't think he'd like it but he did...and I loved it. In fact, I would go see it again. I thought all of the actors did a great job, and disagree with all of the negative reviews. Well, I rarely agree with movie critics anyway. I love Rob and thought he did a great job. I wasn't sure if I'd like the chemistry between him and Emilie, but I did. Little Ruby did an outstanding job as well.
1. When I first read the reviews for RM and heard that it ended with a 9/11 twist - I was hesitant to feel anything at all for this movie. REASON: as a US Marine who served in Afghanistan and lost several friends as a result of 9/11 - I am emotionally invested in this piece of American history (just like others on this board, I'm sure). I wasn't ready to jump on the RM bandwagon, even if RPattz was the lead. <3 But after watching this movie last night I can wholeheartedly say that the film does not exploit 9/11 in any way, shape or form. It is very respectful of this tragic event and I think one of the many take home messages is that we should appreciate/cherish/do right by our loved ones because you never know when their time is up.
2. I am thoroughly impressed by Robert's performance. Wow! He's got some great range :) BRAVO RM cast! You all did a fantastic job! I loved Ruby, Emilie, Pierce... everyone!!
....continued.
3. This movie sparked a TON of thought and discussion when my friends & I got home last night... just like art should. Again, terrific job RM cast and crew! I sincerely hope the film does really well.
Please see my movie review of RM at www.MovieBlogByDonna.com. I LOVED THE MOVIE!
I saw this movie lastnight, it was awesome! Go see it!
I saw the movie a few nights ago and I didn't know what to expect as I had made a point of not reading or seeing any spoilers. I really enjoyed it. It was very humanizing and dealt with real human issues something that movies don't do anymore. There was no action pack scenes as there are nowadays with little or no storyline. Don't listen to the negative critics out there. The cast is very good and so is the acting. It is a story well worth telling and seeing. I really liked it and I will be seeing it again.
Robert Pattinson is like "breath of fresh air", at a time when most movies are shallow and most actors and actresses prefer to fall in the same shallow or limited category. RB will not want to fall in that category......and he has enough talent and emotional span, not to. He is a good actor who just happens to be very handsome. I really think the "nasty comments" from some of the critics must be from envy and jealousy.
"Remember Me" is an excellent movie. The ending does not shock me or make me feel betrayed. Actually, it makes the 9/11 even more tragic and real. It puts a face on the tragic event, which for most people, not involved directly, seemed almost unreal and somewhat distant. There is nothing to be shocked about or to be up-in-arms. It brought personal tragedy to a lot of people who lost loved ones or people who they knew. It makes us think more sympthize and be compassionate.
The movie "Titanic" did the same. Yet, I prefer "Remember Me" more.
saw this movie, and i cried all nite last night and this morning.to yes this movie is so true yes life is to short and we do need to live in love with each and everyone RM IS A GREAT MOVIE I ASKED MY NIECE AND SHE SAID SHE WAS IN THE SECOND GRADE AND THAT'S ALL SHE REALLY REMEMBER AND WE ARE FROM NY PEOPLE NEVER SEEM TO TALK ABOUT THAT DAY AT THE TIME MY ONLY SISTER WORKIED IN NEW JERSEY AND SHE WASW ON THE PATH TRAIN AND THAT WAS MY ONLY SISTER BUT I WAS NOT CRYING BECAUSE OF THE LIVES THAT WERE LOSS I WAS CRYING HOW SOME PEOPLE WAS ANGRY ABOUT ROB ACTING IN A MOVIE THAT HAD A STORY ABOUT THAT DAY AS THEY MAKE IT SOUND LIKE IT;S TABOO TO SPEAK ABOUT THAT DAY SILLY SILLY BECAUSE MY MUM NEVER SPOKE TO MY NEICE ABOUT HER MUM THAT WE LOST
I saw this movie and was very moved by it, I just thought it was brilliant and very tastefully done. Rob was excellent in it and I thought his acting was excellent. Rob deserves a lot of credit for being brave enough to take on this script, what with all the controversy that has surrounded it. He could have played it "safe" by taking on the standard "fluff" movie, boy meets girl and they live happily ever after, but this movie was supposed to carry a message and make us realize that behind the numbers involved in a tragedy there are individual stories to be told.
I loved this movie!! It was more than a romantic drama. The power of family overshadowed the romance between the leading actors, but it was never forgotten. I was very much moved by the movie and cried at the end, even though I knew the ending. That says something.
I saw the movie tonight and was very moved!! I guess I had seen the trailers but had a different idea of how it would end. The movie was extremely well-cast. The elements of loss, of hope, of love made this a movie worth experiencing, thinking about and remembering.
I loved "Remember Me"! It is a very good movie. There is so much to the story that does not translate into the trailer. The story is so well written, acted and the relationships are engaging. It was great. Go see it!
Saw Remember Me today and enjoyed it very much. I dragged my sis along as I'm the Rob fan, and quess what? She cried, laughed and was pleasantly surprised. I'm really not too sure how it could get a bad review and even more shockingly, how anyone can critique Rob's acting in a negative way.
Though it is slow paced, every minute is just right. Good stuff.
the movie sucked
love the movie.I dont why the critics hate robert.he is awesome
Robert Pattinson was actually very good in Remember Me--he is a very watchable star and got the chops. His next move should be to leave the Twilight Saga now (I guess there is one more movie left to do). Summit can replace him, after all if Remember Me box office proves anything, the craziness about RP is about Edward, thus the fans will scream and mob anyone who'll replace Pattinson, given of course that he is young and good looking too.
Now, $8+M week-end earning is not small feat for a a small film, thus Robert Pattinson is billable; and he is mesmerizing on screen, so much so that I for one, will go see his non-Twilight movies. I mean, really, how can he go back as Edward after Remember Me? I believe continuing Twilight will be bring him down, he's outgrown the role.
My friend and I drove to another town to see this movie. I am 48 and my friend is 25. We LOVE Robert Pattinson. The movie is still haunting me and I don't think that I will ever forget it.There are so many "layers" to this film and the acting was incredible. When a young actor such as Pattinson admits that he is still trying to learn his craft the critics should take that into consideration.
So happy to read all of these comments. I too, enjoyed this movie so much- it was so nice to see a serious, believable movie that was well-acted by all. Robert and Emilie were wonderful and I enojoyed all the scenes with his little sister Ruby Jerins. I have told many people it is a must see! It was very touching.
Remember Me has touched me in such a profound way that it's difficult to put into words. Men were crying. Women were crying. The credits rolled and everyone was literally glued to their seats. You will leave KNOWING these characters, loving these characters, and holding them close to your heart. It's REAL, honest, hearbreakingly beautiful, haunting, yet uplifting. This movie will CHANGE you. Please, everyone, SEE Remember Me.
I liked the movie very much. I am glad that I did not listen to the critics as I read lots of reviews prior to watching. I strongly disagree that the ending exploited 9/11. As a matter of fact, I think it tied in perfectly with the story line and it was tastefully done. I am not a screaming teenager, I am an educated adult and I strongly recommend this movie as one to watch. All the actors did an excellent job but I am especially impressed with Robert Pattinson and Emilie because they were up against some seasoned actors and did an excellent job.

I saw the movie twice this weekend...yes, that's how good it was that I had to see it again. The second time I still loved it...it's one of those movies that you can keep watching over and over. It's sad that alot of critics are talking negative about the ended. Please don't because that day is a part of our history that we should never forget. That day should never be forgotten, because when we forget it'll only hurt us again! The whole cast was great! The story line was so real in so many issues.
We saw it and will see it again before it leaves the theatre. I felt Robert Pattinson showed what a skilled actor he is and the cast did a great job. I didn't expect a dramatic film and was pleasantly surprised. The end was sad and shocking but reminds people to remember the victims of September 11. The best scenes in my opinion was the boardroom scene with the son fighting with his father and the people wanting to leave and also the school scene where he throws the fire extinquisher.
Loved it. It wasn't a great movie but it was a good movie. Rob was good and you can tell his acting is improving all the time. And I always love Pierce no matter what he is doing. Rob would do well to take lessons from him.
Saw the movie twice and am still thinking about it. How refreshing to see a movie that depicts complex relationships and not car chases. I liked the characters. I thought the acting was excellent, and I especially liked the scenes between Mr. Pattinson (Tyler)and Ruby Jerins who played his sister,Caroline. Very touching. See it, you won't be disappointed.
I saw Remember me with my mother and teenage daughter we all laughed and cried it was a very good movie Robert Pattinson did not ask to be idolized we did that to him so stop hating in him he was very good in the movie as was the rest of the cast We also saw Alice in wonderland it was good but then how long have these people been in the business?
