Jimmy Owen Sullivan, The Rev, has died. According to police, he was found dead in his home in Southern California on Monday. Although the Orange County coroner's office is investigating his death, it appears that he died of natural causes.
Jimmy Sullivan was the drummer and backup singer for the band Avenged Sevenfold, A7X.
Avenged Sevenfold released the a statement on their website after Jimmy's tragic passing.
"It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy “The Rev” Sullivan. Jimmy was not only one of the world's best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time.
Jimmy you are forever in our hearts.

James Owen Sullivan was only 28 years old. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy's family, friends, and all the fans who have been touched by The Rev's passing.
James Owen Sullivan was born on February 10, 1981 and passed away on December 28, 2009.

The Rev is the greatest drummer and we all know it. His death has changed the world completely. Everyone will miss him. My brohter and I will always remember Jimmy. Avenged Sevenfold is our favorite band and always will be. The song that makes me think about Jimmy's death is...Seize the Day. May you rest in POWER and PEACE Jimmy (The Rev.) I started listening to metal becuase of A7X I loved the rev he was awesome and extremely talented . He really was the glue that held the band together in my opinion. I am so sad:( I saw him live he was amazing . R.I.P. jam with dime and all of the lost greats on the other side bro.

Jimmy "The Rev" Sullivan was one of the best drummers I have heard since Neil Pert of "Rush". This is a gut wrenching loss for the heavy metal community. To the rest of A7X you have our deepest condolences. Our thoughts are with all of you, especially of Jimmy's family. A great one was lost. Along with Jimi Hendrix,James Morrison,Janis Joplin,and Duane Allman just to name a few. He's now a star looking down on all of us.And jamming with the greatest band nobody will hear.

there has been so many celebrity deaths this year , no one would have ever expected brittany murfy or "the rev" to die . everyone would expect michael jackson to die because he's "old" , no one would expect a 28 or 32 year old . hopefully a7x will continue . x

It is really sad how such talent and prescense is lost abruptly, I am still in shock. The Rev really was an amazing drummer who contributed greatly to the talent of A7X and I bet he was an amazing person as well.

it still hasn't hit me that he is dead. i just can't image it. i almost feel as if this is just a bad joke. i'm very sorry to his family and his band who practically were his family. you will be greatly missed buddy, and from what i once read from somebody now when u hear a thunder storm it's him playing up there.
