Yesterday's episode of Dancing With the Stars brought the second elimination of the season.

Retired astronaut Buzz Aldrin and his partner Ashly Costa were sent home last night after three weeks on the competition.

Buzz and Ashly managed to stay on last week, while Pamela Anderson and Shannen Doherty, along woth their dancing partners, were an the bottom two positions.

But, unfortunately, all of Buzz's fans (and there are plenty, believe us!) were not enough when paired with his and Ashly's low dancing scores.

With Jake Pavelka and Chelsie Hightower on the second to lowest position, it was Buzz and Ashly at the bottom.

Buzz did great for being 80 years old and he looked quite graceful on the dance floor; we're proud of his persistance!

But most importantly Buzz said that he did DWTS to make people aware of the country's space accomplishments and the military. "I did this show for the fighter pilots out there, the military people and the elder geezers like me who would just like to see an elder come back week after week." The famous moon-walker said.

"I'm [also] interested in having the public be thankful for the great successes that we had in the Apollo program and look forward to even greater successes in our future space program." Buzz added.

The historic astronaut also said, "I thank everyone who voted for us."

We certainly enjoyed watching Buzz dance, and wish he could have stuck around a little longer... But, the show must go on! We await until next week to see the remaining performers dance and look forward to the next elimination.

It's sad to see anyone who has served their country "go home". However, we must remember "it's a dancing contest" not a political, military, fashion, or sex show. I'm sorry for the pro's who know they don't even have a chance to get their partner to the finish line after all the hard work they put in. Also, some of the folks are nothing but sentimental favorites and have nothing to add to the competition other than fan loyalty.
