Anna Kendrick defends Twilight fans in her remarks: Goes too far telling people not to buy tickets

August 13, 2010 -- Anna Kendrick seems to be pushing her way into the Twilight fans camp by some interesting wordage about their actions. In an interview this week with the Wall Street Journal she talked about people who say things regarding the Twilight fans who camp out at the movie premiere or get excited about the series overall.

“People like to make fun of the fans who camp out but people have renaissance faires; people do Civil War reenactments; people do what they like,” Kendrick said to Speakeasy at the Wall Street Journal. “I’m tired of hearing people rag on the fans. If you don’t like ‘Twilight,’ don’t buy a ticket.”

Sounds like an odd quote coming from an actress who is out promoting the new movie, ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.'  If this was Kristen Stewart talking this might have some real meaning because she is portraying one of the three main characters in the 'Twilight' movie but Anna is a second tier actress at best.  Kendrick isn't exactly someone who should be spouting off about not buying tickets in the midst of her fairly successful career either. Where is Anna's Rep to help her to think about words before speaking?

Of course it isn't just the Twilight fans who camp over and get obsessive. There are the Lady Gaga fans, the Justin Bieber fans, the Harry Potter fans and even the NASCAR fans. The list goes on and on. Nobody else has come forward to stupidly suggest not to buy tickets. It is just part of the 'hype', fun and press coverage. We embrace our likes and act a little loony because we get excited about the opportunity.

Anna needs to know that everyone has a pal who is obsessed about a hobby or movie. The difference is we don't take it personal as it is a great story for a party. We pull out our iPhone and upload the insanity to YouTube.com and laugh. In the end of the day we look in out bathroom mirror and secretly obsess about a chance to act crazy too.

Way to go Anna! It's about time someone told the naysayers off and you did, but good.

I THINK ANNA IS RIGHT. WITH TICKET SALES GOING THROUGH THE ROOF I DON'T THINK SUMMIT HAS ANYTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I AGREE STOP SLAMMING THE TWILIGHT SAGA'S AND DON'T GO SEE THEM IF YOU HATE THE FRANCHISE SO MUCH. JUST SAY NO!

If you did any research you would find that Anna disses the Twilight saga most of the time, saying the fans are the "loudest" and that she doesn't like all the hype. But it sounds like you WANT her to take the latter. I agree with her, if your not a fan, don't buy a ticket - oh, and dont write hypocritical articles.
