Meet Amanda Seyfried. At 24 years old, she's been named ShoWest's 2010 "Breakthrough Female Star of the Year". With a history of smaller roles and childhood modeling, Seyfried is definitely breaking through.
The Pennsylvania blonde made her mark in Hollywood when she debuted alongside Lindsay Lohan in "Mean Girls". After two more flicks, Seyfried landed a role in the television series "Big Love" and rocked the musical film feature "Mamma Mia!", for which she picked up the honors for "Breakthrough Performance Female" at the 2009 MTV Movie Awards.
In addition to acting, Seyfried has musical abilities, too. For her recent flick "Dear John", Seyfried says producers needed a song and she was able to pitch in and help.
"I wrote a song, when I was by myself," she told About.com. "At my piano. I do it alot [but] I've never taken any of it seriously. And I needed a song...for the montage," she said. Adding, "And they ended up using that clip on the montage."
Seyfried currently has three other movies in production. Her next movie out is an erotic thriller called "Chloe". Amanda plays the leading role and has already told the press that dad is banned from seeing the movie. Thanks to a naked, lesbian love scene, Amanda said she'd rather keep that one out of family dinner conversations.
"My dad's not allowed to see," she said, while adding personally that it's not a big deal for her. "Being nude is not really much of an issue...It's easy just to take off your clothes but it's really the intimacy that's challenging."
