While shooting for her new movie, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, Katie Holmes just barely escaped injury after a car caught on fire--that she had been sitting in just moments before.
The BMW 5-series car was being used on the set of Holmes new horror flick being filmed in Australia, when the car suddenly began to spark and smoke. The crew rushed over and moments later pulled a blackened car battery from under the hood.
Katie, who had been sitting in the car just moments earlier, was safe in her trailer with daughter, Suri.
Luckily no one was hurt and the movie production is still on schedule.

Narrowly escapes? Massive exaggeration?
if you were sitting in a car moments before it caught on fire, that is considered narrowly escapes
