Seems there's a little Bitter Betty in the air following Taylor Swift's CMA victory. Wynonna Judd is doing the slow clap to Swift's win. Judd was quoted saying "You want my honest comment? It's too much too soon." She goes on to berate the way success is a corporate decision now, instead of the result of hard work, putting in the time, and relentless energy. "There was a making of a star, there was a rising up and the fans went with us...now it's over coffee breaks."
That's hardly devastating words but surely people will be all disgusted that yet another 'imma let you finish' has tarnished the pure celestial awesomeness of Taylor Swift. Those people are stupid. Judd has a good point: music isn't about popularity or a competition to come out at top. It's about construction and talent. All she's saying is what everyone is secretly thinking: that Swift has been pushed at a mainstream audience with surprising force and velocity. No one's had a chance to breath and actually look at her as a performer and musician. The overwhelming desire to make sure Swift's career arc hits every note in one year as opposed to the decades others try to span seems destined to force her into early obscurity. There's too much hype, too much need for her to be everything at once. Not a natural progression. Regardless of Swift's talent level, overexposure and hype tend to hurt artists in the long run far more than help them.

The CMA awards hav been a big, phony joke for decades. The first big joke was selecting pop singer Olivia Newton John. Like the Academy Awards, it has little to do with real talent.Why bother to watch?
Celestial awesomeness? What are you smoking? Wynonna was being kind. I can not understand how Taylor Swift got famous, let alone win so many awards!!! She may sound OK in the studio but, good God, she sings off key live and is no better than half the girls in high school. I've heard much better in karaoke bars. Give me a break.
