Although it seems in character for the delightfully egotastic Kanye West to declare himself the heir to the Pop King throne, it seems the whole story may have been fabricated by otherwise unknown website scrape.tv. Yes, it is devastating to think that a gossip story may not be 100% authentic. Besides Fox News, what could be more reliable? BUT there's a serious lack of evidence that the statement ACTUALLY came from the verbose singer. Perhaps he has really taken to heart the lesson learned via his South Park beating: he is better listened to than heard.
So apologies if it isn't true, but maybe if Kanye wasn't so dedicated to being the most vain man alive, this wouldn't have been such a viable rumor. After all, even stories about Robert Pattinson's love life are greeted with more skepticism than this readily accepted legend of douchery. It didn't even seem worth debating or researching, although in retrospect, the lack of upper case should have outed it as fraud.
It's like the Onion if the Onion needed emoticons to let people know it's a joke. Pretty sad that Kanye has such a lame rep as a human that no one, including myself, questioned this.

Ok blame a man who hasnt did anything recently for an article that wasn't true. Way to bash Kanye when he didnt even start the rumor. Sad people get paid to be idiots.
sad you're contributing to her getting paid by reading this. tear!
hasnt did anything recently? Go too school.
Pfft. Even I was able to tell that the story was bogus. Scrape.tv is a JOKE website, that means EVERYTHING they write is nothing more than humor-tinged fabrication. An excerpt from the story: "West has reportedly tried to make contact with members of the Jackson clan to obtain official permission to use the title but has thus far received no response. It is believed the family is mourning the death of their loved one and have given little thought to the line of succession." Come on, you SERIOUSLY couldn't tell that it was all just pure BS at this point? Are you really that daft?
no one doubted it because Kanye is a tool
Why would you think Kanye was better listened to then heard? ,could it be the true comment he made about Ex worst president Bush("Bush hates Black people")is still stuck in alot of people minds?I am glad he spoke the truth...when a black man shows confidence he is egotistical, when a white guy does it he is self confident, what hypocrisy!!!95% of Blacks didnt vote for Bush, maybe they knew something whites didnt.
Get out of here! Kanye may be egotistical but please believe that he would never disrespect MJ like that. Do some research!
I did, if only cause I know him well enough to know just how incongruent this statement is to his reverence towards Michael. That's at least one, and I'm willing to bet a good thousand or so others felt the same way.
In other Michael Jackson-related news. Amy Winehouse is now dedicated to gettin herself clean after being visited by the ghost of Mike. Like Ye's situatuin, regardless of its truth, this story must be transcribed to every corner of the internets.
