Many rather frightening images of a pre-photoshopped Madonna have been circulating over the past couple of weeks. First, a particularly unflattering shot of her from the infamous W shoot that began the affair to end all affairs with Jesus Luz made the rounds. Now some unaltered images from the Hard Candy shoots have re-popped up after being squashed last year. So she looks kind of old. Well, she IS kind of old. Like, in her fifties. And maybe a little soft in the face in some of them, which isn't surprising since as a heavy smoker over the years, her skin is bound to show some wear and tear. Otherwise, to be honest, it's more the facial expressions they're having her make that grant a little 'wicked witch' than her actual appearance. We can't all be Jennifer 'bathes in baby blood' Tilly.
But let's just discuss one thing: you have never, ever seen an unaltered magazine photo of a celebrity. You know Beyonce? Thunder thighs. Jessica Alba? Arm fat. All of them are shockingly human with mortal flaws that someone in a studio fixes up and snips into a completely unrealistic image that makes them legendary and makes you have an eating disorder. The end.
