Rumor has it Megan Fox is inches away from being signed as Catwoman for the next Batman film. Excuse me.

Look, she's super hot. She can't act her way out of a paper bag. You can't just cast for looks. Catwoman has so much potential. Forgive this Batman nerdout:
Selina Kyle, aka Catwoman...the best move would be to avoid the previous Golden Age background for her that Tim Burton followed. Instead, the Dark Knight Catwoman, who works as a dominatrix and prostitute in some comics and is on a constant quest to determine whether she's related to Gotham crime boss Carmine Falcone. She comes from an abusive and dark childhood during which she was nearly drowned in a bag like a cat. She's a passionate animal rights advocate as well as crusader for victimized women, but also unquestionably damaged from her past. She's an incredibly gray character whose notions of right, wrong, and retribution are in constant conflict with those of Batman's. But their interaction is great because it reflects the way Batman and Bruce Wayne are so splintered from each other, which is Batman's greatest weakness. Selina Kyle is Selina even as Catwoman: she still loves Bruce Wayne, unaware that he's Batman, her antagonistic ally. Meanwhile, Batman is as attracted to Catwoman as Bruce Wayne is to Selina, but he's too disconnected from his alter egos to put it together, plus it's a perfect analogy for the differences between Wayne and Batman...and the ways they are actually exactly the same.
Anyway, so her character is awesome and her interaction with Bruce/Batman and Alfred, whom you suspect is aware of her alter ego from the get-go and sees that she's a kindred spirit, is fantastic and multi-layered: despite Christian Bale joking he'd walk if Robin was introduced to the series, the heartbreak Selina experiences when she witnesses Bruce opening up to this ward and shutting her out is pretty amazing.
So can Megan Fox handle that? Probably not. Can Chris Nolan handle that? Hopefully. He's a fantastic filmmaker but one thing every picture has in common is that the females are the weakest link, generally one-dimensional and useless. Even the grating character of Rachel Dawes is written to play unreasonable brattiness in place of clever anger.
It's just a rumor, though, and hopefully not true at all. Rachel Weisz would make a much better Catwoman. Remember, they aren't supposed to be all that young.

As Catwoman would say, meeeeeyow. Jealous much Sabrina? Besides, Gyllenhall's oak-like performance didn't stop Dark Knight from being awesome.
I have to disagree with your evaluation of Megan Fox. I had the privilege of attending a test screening of Jennifer's Body, the upcoming Diablo Cody scripted horror flick--which was great by the way--after seeing that film, I had to admit that she could act. But I can see why people think she's just another Jessica Alba (a talentless hottie). Hitherto, she has only played superficial roles in turd films like Transformers, where she's the sexed up damsel in distress. Come September, the news of Megan Fox as Catwoman might be greeted with excitement rather than dread.
Agree. Megan Fox is way too hot, but extremely overrated. It doesn't matter if she can or can't act, she is just at the top of the pop culture mountain.
Jennifer's Body looks really awful, sorry, and Megan Fox admitted she's not a good actress. Yes she's hot, but to put her in the next Batman is an insult to the veteran, talented actors who have to work with that. If it's just the look people want, then you might as well go back to the cartoon-y Batman films of the 90's.
They have to do a better job casting females for the next film. Between this silly rumor (which is supposedly wrong - so they say now) and the snores that were Holmes and Gyllenhaal, this is getting ridiculous.
This is lame! If they cast megan fox as catwoman I won't see it. Plus there is to be sexual tension between batman and catwoman. Hello we can't have our batman going to jail for dating a minor. He's 40 she should be too. There are plenty of hot 40 somethings in hollywood. Nolan does not need to stoop to the level of teen flicks.
Megan is a poor choice for a role like that. It would work better with someone like Rhona Mitra or Kate Beckinsale. I understand it if she's trying to expand her craft but she's not quite ready for a role like Catwoman. Batgirl, maybe.
