Miley Cyrus rocked the Gibson Amphitheatre stage for fans and shocked parents when she 'innocently' danced on a pole at the 2009 Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, August 9.
Granted, the “Hannah Montana” starlet only danced by the pole briefly as she belted out her latest release “Party in the USA” during the two-hour special (See video below).
But was the performance appropriate for a 16-year-old singer aka teen role model?
Given the track record of former Disney stars Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears, daddy Billy Ray might really want to rethink Miley's stage performances since they send messages to young fans.

Wow...how sad...what happen to you Miley. You are 16 and supposed to be a Christian and a teen role model. Pole dancing is for slutty girls. My family used to watch you and now my kids cant stand the fact that you want to be like Brittany and walk around with everything hanging out and put on a performance like you did last night. Well you got the attention you were wanting I guess.

I think Miley went a little too far this time. Between the outfits and the dancing it was too much and innapropriate. Her first outfit was way too skimpy. Could her shirt be any looser? With her second outfit that was such a deep v, a little too deep for a 16 year old. Her dancing is another story. I was skeptical when she stepped out of that trailor and danced with the door. I had no idea what she was going to do next. When she got up on that pole I was like whoa! She does not need to be doing that!

I hardly call that pole dancing, it looked more like it was there as something to hold on to, to keep from falling off the cart. People are going so apeshit over this and this is the first I have seen of it and I don't get it. I think instead of bitching about what a teen did at the Teen Awards, maybe we should be bitching at the so called adults there with there way off key jokes they told at a Teen Awards Show ie Dane Cook and Kathy Griffin with their garbage, and lets not forget Kat Von D and her skanky ass ensemble. And of course we see that Perez Hilton is also back to hating Miley, hmm wonder if it was her actual performance or that she was seen hanging with and hugging Fergie? We all know how Perez and the Black Eyed Peas guys love each other after all.

omg.all the people just shuit up.it was just a dance.nothing else.she just held the pole nothing else.she did what she was told to do.her familey has no objection.so why u all people.and now about her outfit,the song was 'party in the usa'.so she has to were those clothes to look like she is in a party.and she is a celebritiy.so shut up.
Turning the TCA'S and I saw the first second of miley, i looked down and said "Oh Miley Miley Miley, What have you gotten yourself into?" I must adment it wasn't poll dancing but having when i see my little sister do that to a dodge ball poll, i sigh even more
Oh Whatever! She's not polldancing! She did one little squat! Was on there for 30 seconds and then jumped off.
the mere thought of her getting on the pole says somethin...that DID NOT need to be in her performance, its not a good look
