Lil Wayne
Sorry Lil Wayne fans, it seems his experimental rock album "Rebirth" has received yet another set back and won't hit stores until the end of 2009.
As previously reported, Universal Records supposedly blamed the project's delay on the first single "Prom Queen" not ranking high on the charts but now a rep for Cash Money Records says Wayne's busy schedule is the actual cause.
"It's not going to be 'til the end of the year. We're talking about holiday (season)," a Cash Money Records representative recently told press.
"He(Wayne)’s just been really hectic, not having time to promote it the way we’d like to promote it."
However, when the single "Prom Queen" dropped in January (09) and only reached No. 15 on the Billboard 100 charts, Universal possibly had cause for concern.
Rumor also has it, Lil Wayne's manager Cortez Bryant was advised against letting the "A Milli" star press forward with the project.
A source told ContactMusic.com, "If Wayne doesn't brighten up, they have to turn into Mr. Evil Record Company and just tell him it's never going to be released."
So if the rock project is causing such a commotion, why is the "Lollipop" lyricist so adamant about releasing "Rebirth"?
It's simple: he's bored with the success of his career and wants a challenge.
Wayne told Rolling Stone, "The rock s**t just comes from what my life is now. I've grown into this person. I just got - I'm not going to say 'so good' at what I was doing, but it became such a regularity for me that I got tired of it. And then I said, 'You know what? I'm not going to rap on this one.'"
To date, "Rebirth" has been pushed back from its original April 7th release to May 19th, to sometime in September, to now at the end of the year.

They should just realease the album, lil wayne will never flop the album might not sell a million in a week, but it will go platinum eventually, these record executives need to stop being so worried about the sales and let us get the great music that will be on REBIRTH!!
No problem with the hold on Rebirth... He wants it to be perfect and doesn;t want to let us down.
Sorry hes garbage. half his lines dont make any sense..im right right ur wrong left? huh? and that song prom queen is horrrrible. A milli and i feel like dying were good. thats it.
What is Lil Wayne thinking? I guess he dont like money any more, cuz people who listen to rock are not gonna buy a rappers rock album. And people who listen to rap are not gonna buy a rock album. Prom Queen wasn't music, it was garbage, and i thought he looked pretty funny holding a guitar. What an idiot.
hold up! hold up! hold up! this man is not the best rapper alive for no reason. Prom Queen wuz ok. I think He has a ligit excuse for his album bein pushed back with the big I AM MUSIC tour he currently on. dont bash the nman that has brought u countless smash hits. he is just bored. and lil wayne has such a huge fan base that whenever the Rebirth drops people will buy it weather they are rap or rock fans, or simple just lil wayne fans.
i think he should definitely go ahead and release the album. ive been saving money just for this album for almost six months and im kind of getting tired of waiting. if it doesn't release soon, ill just move on to something else.
I can wait. It will be fly
