Tilda Swinton, everyone's favorite Bjorkian actress, she of the multiple lovers and fantastic androgynous looks, has joined a campaign in Scotland to fight Donald Trump's latest venture: a multi-million dollar golf course.
She has added her name to a petition to support four residents who have been fighting Trump since the project was introduced. Their struggle was documented in a Vanity Fair article that focused on Trump's tactics to force them out of their homes and vastly alter the landscape around them. And considering the article is written by a sympathetic acquaintance of Trump's, that says something.
Swinton called out Trump on his bullying, to which his team responded by accusing her of taking sides with 'extremists'. Oh, people who can't be bought out for any sum of money. How frustrating they must be to a man like Trump who understands nothing else.
Much of the fuss has to do with the strip of land Trump purchased, which happens to be considered environmentally sensitive.
BTW, if you've never seen Swinton in Orlando, you're missing out. Fantastic movie. And excellent novel.
